Draupathi, the latest Tamil movie, has fallen prey to piracy giants Tamilrockers and Movierulz. As per the reports, the Tamil-language rural drama film Draupathi has been leaked by torrent websites and it is now easily available for free download.
Draupathi is directed and produced by Mohan G, Draupathi and features Richard Rishi and Sheela Rajkumar in the lead roles. Karunas and Nishanth stars in the movie as supporting actors. The film Draupathi’s music was composed by Jubin while cinematography was performed by Manoj Narayan and edited by Devaraj S.
The film hit the theatres on February 28, 2020. Soon after, HD print of the Draupathi full movie was made available on multiple torrent websites. If the filmmakers of the film fail to withdraw the movie from online websites as soon as possible, they are most likely to suffer a heavy loss at the box office.
Getting movies leaked by torrent websites, especially Tamilrockers, have become quite common nowadays. Tamilrockers have leaked a number of Bollywood, Tamil, Telugu, and other language movies that includes Hit, Patni Patni Aur Wo, Ala Vaikunthapurranmuloo, Sarileru Neekevvaru, Darbar, Seeru, Thambi, Hero, Thota, Bandobast, Panipat, Iruttu, Pailwaan, Mission Mangal, Kadaran Kondan, Chhichhore, Kalank, Dream Girl, Prassthanam among others.
The Copyright Act, 1957, in India, protects all types of movies, music, songs, videos, literary and artistic work. The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) is one such act that restricts access to sites that host pirated content. The prime aim behind these piracy laws is to stop and a crackdown on copyright infringement.
Is Tamilrockers illegal?
TamilRockers is a group (presumably) that runs its websites by uploading pirated copies of movies, songs, music, and videos of many different languages. These pirated movies and videos are available for free downloads.
